Coro Alpino "Monte Orsaro"

My father was an “Alpino” (Italian alpine trooper), therefore I remember those sundays of wine, “polenta” (cornmeal mush, ndt), songs and hikes. I have never forgotten it, thus listening to a chorus is such an everlasting memory. I ignore where the memory rests, nevertheless it vividly lives, although it doesn’t exist anymore. It must be the nostalgic four-part harmony singing, or maybe the astonishing image of the mountain, the “mazzolin di fiori per la tua bella” lyrics, the “grappa” liqueur against the cold wheater, the letters from the front, sent to mothers, the funeral oration for the dead soldiers. An idea of Land becoming a patrimony. (Text by Davide Fabbri)

The Alpine Chorus “Monte Orsaro” (Alpines National Association, section of Parma) has 35 elements and 35 years of activity. Paolo Monferdini presides over the chorus, while Stefano Bonnini is the director.
