Private Landscape

A conversation with Anna Scalfi Eghenter and the curators of the exhibition Patrimonio: Cecilia Canziani e Davide Ferri

“Private Landscape. Land can be a property, landscape cannot. Land cannot be esthetically privatised. Perception as a gesture is required by Art. 9 of Italian Constitution, which refers to the conservation of landscape. Instead, environment, construction industry and city planning is disiplined by administrative law. The marble plaque can be used to point out at a compromised landscape and specify its extention. It also gives the possibility to candidate a point of view, signelled by an inlaid plaque.”
